My Story
I have a deep love for all things creative. . . the written word, paper books, crisp san serif typefaces, creative storytelling and impactful design ~ all things that initially drew me to the field of advertising.
Writing has always been my passion. Great storytelling moves you. The magic happens when language is used with intention and words are woven together to create a literary landscape. Words that draw you in and transport you to another time and place. They invite you into the story, evoking the sights, sounds, smells and emotions of the moment.
A great book transforms readers into characters, allowing you to experience the story as if it’s your own. ♥
My Journey
Embarking on a career in advertising allowed me to use my talents and love for the written word. The process of crafting engaging copy and design to draw consumers in and create memorable and lasting impact is a powerful and rewarding experience.
Often, where we begin in our career isn’t always where we land. I started in advertising, transitioned into a marketing strategist role and eventually worked my way into marketing management. Each stage of my career allowed me to learn, grow and develop a deep skill set in marketing strategy, branding, creative services and campaign management. Taking on a broad range of roles and responsibilities taught me what I do best, what brings me joy and where my true passion lies.
The Crossroads
After over two decades in marketing, communications and leadership roles, I realized I had gotten away from doing the work that truly brings me joy and peace. I decided to take the road less traveled, dove into the world of freelancing and have never looked back.
The clarity and confidence I developed throughout my career gave me the courage to chart a new path and return to my creative roots. Where this journey takes me is yet to be seen, but as with every great adventure, I know the destination will be beautiful and rewarding!
On a more personal note,
I am a native Nebraskan. I grew up in a small farming community, but I’ve called Omaha home for over 20 years. I love the “Nebraska Nice” culture and the diversity of the Omaha community.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, going on hiking adventures with my dog Ruby, camping and gardening. I’m passionate about animal rescue and holistic pet care. My three cats (Stella, Jax & Scout) and my dog, Ruby, were all found living on the streets. As the saying goes, we saved each other.
I believe there are few things more spectacular than a Nebraska sunset (picture of our family farm with the sun setting over the horizon). Should we never have the opportunity to meet, I wish you peace, happiness and many adventures along your own journey. ~ Dana
